Sierra Leone: Organizational Development Expert in Freetown

Agriconsulting is looking for a Organizational Development Expert for the EU funded project “Technical Assistance for the REDD+ and capacity building project in Sierra Leone”

Qualifications and skills

-A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university in management or human resources. Post-graduate qualification in a related field will be additional value.

-Additional qualifications in education/training or training of trainers would also be added value.

General professional experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in international development project related to institutional strengthening, capacity building or organizational development.
  • A minimum proven experience of 5 years in managing and supervising other persons work.
  • Experience in leading organizational changes would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written presentation and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard PS Office software.

Specific professional experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience of developing institutional strengthening or organizational development strategies.
  • Proven experience of conducting organizational assessments.
  • Proven experience in training staff in best practice strategic organizational development, human resources management or effective communication channels between staff and managers
  • Experience in producing training materials, guidelines and manuals.

The assignment should start in February 2015 and the period of implementation will be of 14 months. The expert will be required on a full time basis (14 months)

Sierra Leone: Forest Management for REDD+mainstreaming expert in Freetown

Agriconsulting is looking for a Forest Management for REDD+ mainstreaming expert for the EU funded project “Technical Assistance for the REDD+ and capacity building project in Sierra Leone”

Qualifications and skills

-A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university in forestry or related discipline (e.g. natural resource/ environmental management). A post-graduate qualification in a related field will be additional value to this position.

-Additional qualifications in education/training, training of trainers, lecturing or provision of extension services would also be added value.

General professional experience

  • A minimum of 8 years working experience in forest management or related field e.g. natural resource or environmental management, including experience in national preparations for REDD+ mechanisms. Experience in Africa and in the natural resources/environmental sector will be added values.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a position of mentoring or training or advising, and proven ability to ensure the transfer of knowledge and skills at a broad based level relevant to forest policy and practice.
  • Experience in designing and delivering effective multi-stakeholder consultation around natural resource use and rights would be an added value.
  • Experience in advising government officials and fostering inter-institutional relations would be a further advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Specific professional experience

  • A minimum of 2 years engaged in REDD+ development and/or implementation or REDD+ related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in implementing sustainable forest management practices.
  • A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in delivering technical training and capacity building to a range of different stakeholders in particular government departments involved in forest management.
  • A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in organizing and facilitating seminars and workshops.
  • Proven experience in preparing work plans, overseeing project or programme implementation and monitoring progress to targets, including financial targets.

Qualifications and skills

-A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university in forestry (or natural resource/ environmental management) or related disciplines e.g. biometrics, statistics, geography. Post-graduate qualification in a related field will be additional value.

-Additional qualifications in education/training, training of trainers, lecturing or provision of extension services would also be added value.

General professional experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in designing and implementing forest inventories and/or forest carbon stock inventories in developed or developing countries.
  • Experience in implementing sustainable forest management practices will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in transferring analytical inventory results into simple and workable modules.
  • Excellent oral and written presentation and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in GIS/remote sensing software and MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Specific professional experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience of practical experience with using appropriate technology, i.e. GIS and remote sensing techniques for forest and carbon inventories, ground-truthing and mapping.
  • Proven experience in training field staff in forest inventory techniques, including GIS proficiency.
  • Direct experience working with projects related to international climate change, and specifically, REDD+ developments and discussions is an added value for this position.
  • Experience in producing training materials, guidelines and manuals.

Qualifications and skills

· A minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university is required, in a development related discipline. A post-graduate qualification or equivalent is preferable. An educational background in education/training would be added value.

· Knowledge in forest management or related field e.g. natural resource or environmental management would be added value.

General professional experience

· A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in international development project with a minimum of five (5) years in a lead management position. Experience in Africa and in the natural resources/environmental sector will be added values.

· A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with national governmental institution(s).

· Proven experience in managing and supervising multi-cultural teams and coordinating field activities.

· Proficiency in both spoken and written English.

· Computer literacy and familiarity with standard PS Office software.

Specific professional experience

· A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in preparing work plans, overseeing project or programme implementation and monitoring progress to targets, including financial targets.

· A minimum of four (4) years of proven experience of institutional strengthening and organisational management in a developing country, preferably in a natural resource sector.

· Proven experience in designing working procedures, setting up management structures and implementing institutional capacity gaps analysis and training needs assessments.

· Proven experience in preparation of programme proposals.

· Experience on EU contractual and procurement requirements and procedures.
