ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organi­zations, including human rights groups.

JOB SUMMARY

The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) seeks a Clinical Legal Education Expert (CLEE), who will be responsible for implementing clinical legal education programs at university law faculties in Egypt The CLEE will work with a Country Director. S/he will be based in Cairo, Egypt.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support university law faculty in developing clinical legal education programs.
• Assist with development of administrative procedures and policies curriculum, teaching modules and syllabi, organize trainings for clinic faculty;
• Assist universities to develop policies and processes for provision of legal clinics;
• Develop linkages between university clinics and the greater legal community; and
• Develop internship and externship programs for clinic students

QUALIFICATIONS

• JD or foreign equivalent and 7 years of relevant experience in establishing and operating legal clinics;
• Experience teaching in law school or in a clinical legal education program required, as well as at least 3-5 years practical experience in participatory teaching methodologies, curriculum, and course development; and
• Experience in international development.
