In 2012, Plan provided life saving humanitarian assistance, protection, education and emotional support in 36 disasters across the world.

We are looking for exceptional, highly experienced Project Directorto join our Emergency Response Team responding to Ebola Response in Liberia or Guinea or Sierra Leone

You will be responsible for overall coordination and management of the programme.

· Establishment of Community Care Centers (CCCs), following guidelines by the World Health Organization, with the leading role of the Ministry of Health and community groups and health care workers. This includes establishment of management, operation and monitoring systems

· Community health workers and burial teams trained and working on infection prevention and control, waste management and disinfection for the safe disposal of dead bodies.

· Oversee all program implementation, monitoring and evaluation

· Working closely with the Health Specialist, represent Plan in government / inter agency coordination meetings and initiatives on health and Ebola issues.

· Ensure strong partnership with Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, County Health Teams and other governmental partners.

· Ensure collaboration with other Plan responses to the Ebola crisis

Essential

· Proven experience as Public Health Specialist in emergencies.

· Master of Public Health qualification with medical background

· Field experience in managing health projects in an emergency setting

· Previous work in a highly contagious area (i.e. a tuberculosis ward, cholera treatment centre) an advantage

· Experience working with patients with viral hemorrhagic fevers (Ebola, Lassa, Marburg, etc.)

· Knowledge of infection control and safety practices related to minimizing infection related to patient care and experience with using personal protective equipment an advantage

· Previous work on bilateral donor-funded health programs an advantage

· Demonstrated experience in community based interventions and participatory planning and training

· Knowledge of international humanitarian standards and codes of conduct

· Experience in managing large, complex grants (e.g. USAID, EU) essential, including budget management, overall supervision of procurement and logistics and timely production of accurate narrative and financial reports essential

· Experience of collaboratively working with local groups, NGOs and UN Agencies

· Demonstrated experience in community based interventions and participatory planning and training

· Excellent written and spoken English

· Excellent written and spoken French (Guinea only)

· Demonstrated ability to network and liaise with major donors and other health actors

· Experience of open collaboration with U.S.-based backstopping staff
