Ghana: Chief of Party

Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated five-year, USAID-funded Partnership for Education: Innovating activity, a component of the USAID Partnership for Education Program in Ghana. The activity aims to increase public action to improve reading outcomes among KG-P3 students. In support of Ghana's primary school reading efforts, this activity will increase public awareness of the importance of reading, as well as support various stakeholders in their implementation of evidence-based activities to improve reading levels. The activity will develop and implement a social and behavioral communications campaign to help achieve these goals. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing overall project leadership, management, and technical direction while ensuring compliance with USAID requirements, U.S. government regulations, and Chemonics policies and procedures
  • Liaising with USAID, host-government counterparts, other USAID Partnership for Education activities, and local partners to coordinate activities and facilitate monitoring and reporting of project objectives and achievements
  • Managing and supervising the work of project personnel and subcontractors with a focus on core results, achievement of work plan and targets, and timely implementation
  • Ensuring that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education, social and behavioral sciences, communications, or related field required
  • Ten years of experience in the field of education or behavior change communications
  • Chief of party experience on USAID-funded or similar international donor-funded programs
  • Experience with activity design, development, and implementation
  • Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context in Ghana preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English required
